By accessing or using managerotg.com (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Satire and fiction
Manager OTG is a satire publication. All content on this Site — including blog posts, glossaries, field reports, fake memos, annotated screenshots, and any quoted dialogue — is fiction. The characters, companies, conversations, meetings, emails, and events depicted are imaginary and are intended as commentary on workplace culture and corporate communication broadly. They are not, and are not intended to be, descriptions of any real person, real company, or real event.
Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or to actual companies, products, or organizations is coincidental, or is the kind of broad resemblance that arises because corporate culture has converged on a shared set of practices. Where real product names appear (e.g., Slack, Notion, Zoom, LinkedIn), they are used as cultural references and do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or any affiliation with their respective owners.
2. Not advice
Nothing on this Site is legal, tax, financial, accounting, medical, career, management, HR, or any other kind of professional advice. The content is humor and commentary, not guidance. Do not make any decision — about your job, your manager, your business, your taxes, or anything else — based on content from this Site. For decisions that matter, consult a qualified professional licensed in your jurisdiction.
3. No professional relationship
Using the Site does not create any attorney-client, advisor-client, employer-employee, fiduciary, agency, or other professional relationship between you and Manager OTG, its operators, contributors, or affiliates.
4. Provided "AS IS"
The Site is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. We make no representation that any content is accurate, current, complete, or suitable for any purpose.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- In no event shall Manager OTG, its operators, owners, employees, contributors, agents, or affiliates be liable to you or any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, loss of employment, emotional distress, or any other damages — arising out of or relating to your access to, use of, or inability to use the Site, or any reliance on any content. This applies even if Manager OTG has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Without limiting the foregoing, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Site shall not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100.00), or, if greater, the total amount you have paid to Manager OTG in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim — which, for clarity, is normally zero, because the Site is free.
- Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so portions of this section may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.
6. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Manager OTG and its operators, owners, employees, contributors, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right; or (d) any claim that your reliance on content from the Site caused damage to you or any third party.
7. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Use the Site for any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purpose
- Republish, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit Site content without prior written permission (linking is fine and encouraged)
- Attempt to disrupt, attack, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Site or its infrastructure
- Use automated scraping, bots, or systematic data extraction beyond ordinary browser use
- Misrepresent your affiliation with Manager OTG
8. Third-party content and advertising
The Site may contain links to third-party websites and may display third-party advertisements, including via Google AdSense or similar networks. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party content. Your interactions with third parties (including advertisers) are solely between you and that third party.
9. Intellectual property
All original content on the Site — including text, code, design, and the underlying selection and arrangement — is the property of Manager OTG or its licensors and is protected by US and international copyright and trademark laws. You may read, share, and link to Site content for personal use. You may not republish wholesale or pass off the content as your own. Real product and company names mentioned in the content are the trademarks of their respective owners and appear here only as fair-use cultural reference.
10. Privacy
Our handling of any data is described in our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference.
11. Cease-and-desist requests
If you are an individual or a representative of an organization and you believe a piece of content here describes you specifically (rather than the general archetype the Site is about), please email hello@managerotg.com with the specific URL and a description of the concern. We take care to write only about fictional archetypes; if a piece has, inadvertently, become identifiable to a single real person, we will review and, where appropriate, revise or remove.
12. Modifications
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Site at any time without notice. We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you waive any right to a jury trial and any right to participate in a class action, collective action, or representative action arising out of or relating to the Site.
14. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Manager OTG regarding the Site.
